Chubby Squirrel Brewing Company opened in 2018 out of a love for beer, brewing and the idea that Fairfax City deserved a brewery of its own. We are still here, still independent and still brewing on-site.
Owner-operated
This is a local small business in the literal sense. The decisions, brewing, food, events and daily problem-solving happen here—not at a distant corporate office.
A 3-barrel brewery
Our brewhouse is small by design. Small batches let us rotate styles, experiment and keep the distance between brewer and drinker very short.
A neighborhood brewpub
We are not trying to be a theme park. Come for a pint, dinner, a game, a weekly special or to meet friends. Familiar faces are part of the point.
Familiar food, with a Squirrel point of view
The kitchen has been part of the story from the beginning. We make recognizable pub food without defaulting to the same generic American menu: poutine, pierogies, cheese curds and wings have lived beside smashburgers, rotating seafood and seasonal specials. It is familiar enough to crave and just different enough to remember—and it is built to go with beer.

We brew in Courthouse Plaza near Old Town Fairfax, with free parking and a location convenient to Fairfax City, George Mason University, Fair Lakes and surrounding neighborhoods.
